Credit Transfer

HIU accepts credit transfer from accredited institutions. This option is available to applicants and existing students.

Requirements:

The following criteria applies for transfer eligibility.

• The content of each course must be equivalent to that of HIU. Alternatively, the course may be used towards an elective credit in HIU degree program.
• The course must be taken from an accredited institution.
• Candidates must have obtained a minimum credit pass on such course.
• Candidates must have taken the courses not later than two(2) years.

Transfer credits can also be accepted from the following:

• Advance Placement(AP) credits
• College Level Examination Program(CLEP)
• International Baccalaureate (IB) credits
• American Council on Education (ACE)
• Transcripts

Credit acceptable

• Associates up to 70%
• Bachelor up to 60%
• Masters up to 50%

Once you apply, you will have a dedicated admission advisor who will take you hand in hand all the way into your first course with a maximum amount of credits already in your pocket.

Credit for courses from Universities outside the U.S requires a course-by-course evaluation and takes some time for approval. However, approval is usually within 72 hours.
