COURSE OVERVIEW – The B.S in Economics is an excellent preparation for a wide range of jobs and graduate and professional studies. Students in the program gain critical thinking and quantitative analysis skills, and these abilities can be used to solve economic and other real-world problems. Beyond the core sequence in micro & macroeconomics as well as quantitative and statistical methods, students can choose elective courses focused on money and banking, environmental economics, labor economics, health economics, econometrics, and many other topics. They will also have the opportunity to utilize and apply the theory, skills and institutional knowledge learned in the program.
COURSE DESCRIPTION – Economics curriculum offers students a framework for understanding how human interactions and exchanges work. Economists identify and analyze the costs and benefits of financial and policy decisions and look for trends in data. The program will equip students with a variety of skills sought by employers, including conceptualizing and solving problems; locating, organizing and using relevant information; and analytical ability. Students will develop analytical skills that will enable them to successfully enter any of a number of industries as a professional.
