COURSE OVERVIEW – The Cybersecurity program is designed to fill a domestic and worldwide critical and growing need for cybersecurity professionals in the public and private sectors. Cybersecurity is becoming one of the major domestic and global challenges. The Cybersecurity program emphasizes the identification and mitigation of information security risks and threats faced by organizations as well as strategies for securing data, processes, and systems of these public and private institutions. Students learn security fundamentals, network design & management, risk management, security policies and standards, cyber laws & ethical hacking cyber laws, and disaster recovery. Individuals with a master's degree in cybersecurity will be qualified to analyze, plan, and implement computer security strategies to safeguard organizations and their data.

COURSE DESCRIPTION – In today’s rapidly evolving and expanding digital environment, the need for experts with advanced skills to fight against and protect from cyber attacks continues to grow.
The cybersecurity curriculum in our master’s degree program has been carefully designed to meet the real-world requirements and to facilitate hands-on experience for achieving successful careers in the general domain of information and cybersecurity technology.
The course will provide students with increased levels of proficiency in products and applications, the skills to build secure and dependable systems, the opportunity to conduct hands-on cybersecurity research, and so much more.

LEARNING OUTCOME – This M.S. in Cybersecurity will help students:
• Broaden skill sets from the undergraduate level
• To make managerial decisions informed by cybersecurity considerations, including how to quantify the value of IT assets and the risk associated with losing them
• Understand the computer science that underlie cyber-attacks and efforts to counteract them so they can respond to new attacks as they evolve
• Examine the vulnerabilities and remedies associated with networks, operating systems, servers, services, file systems and software.
• critically evaluate various technical/architectural solutions to limit risk, mitigate the effects of hostile action, and recover from attacks
• design, implement, and maintain software tools to support network security across multiple operating systems
• oversee the information life cycle of an organization, including planning, acquisition, and implementation of secure infrastructures
• study algorithm concepts, computer forensics, risk management and legal issues, and intrusion detection and hacker exploits
• Convey the legal, ethical and privacy issues associated with information security
• Provide a broader view of cybersecurity within an organization
